There’s a new French brasserie in town, and yes, you should get excited. Maison By Glaschu takes that Parisian charm to a higher level, adding that wee bit of Glasgow and the heart of the Mediterranean to the mix for a delightfully wholesome dining experience.
Located in the historic Princes Square in the heart of Glasgow, Maison By Glaschu boasts a charming atmosphere within the stunning Victorian shopping mall, as well as inside. Having opened its doors in April, 2024, the restaurant is a sister venue to the fine dining spot Glaschu in Merchant Square.
Just like in the fine dining restaurant Glaschu, guests can expect a friendly, personalised service at Maison by Glaschu, with the well-informed staff always ready to help. Secret Glasgow got the chance to try the spot out first-hand for ourselves, tucking into all the French goodness.
The SUPER cheesy French Onion Soup was a welcome start to the evening, providing that much-needed comfort we all crave sometimes. And did we mention you could probably pull that cheese all the way to space? The Baked Truffled Camembert stuffed with black truffle puree (WHAT!), baked with garlic, truffle honey, and thyme, served with charred sourdough was also a huge highlight, making me get all nostalgic just by writing this.
For the main course, guests can choose Scottish Lobster if they feel fancy, or go for more classic options such as the Salad Nicoise, Confit Duck Lasagne or the Beef Bourguignon with red wine and beef shin stew, button mushrooms, pearl onions, bacon lardons carrots, garlic mash. The Creme Brulee also stole the show, with that perfect crunch at the top.
Brunch at Maison by Glaschu
Guests can also indulge in brunch during the weekend, with traditional delights like Eggs Benedict, Eggs Royal, and Eggs Florentine available. Available between Fridays and Sundays from 10am until 1pm, the brunch also boasts Vueve Clicquot Champagne, Mimosas, and Bloody Marys. Plus, those who love a pastry will also delight in the fact that Maison by Glaschu serves Superlative Croissants with a range of fillings available on the day, such as homemade pistachio cream.
The cocktails
And those who are after a cocktail can choose from a wide range of options, yet our favourites were the The Libertine with Absolut Elyx, passionfruit, Del Maguey, lime, Chartreuse and Champagne foam, as well as the Spiced Strawberry Margarita with Olmeca reposado, Horse With No Name, Frais De Bois and strawberry.
Overall, Maison By Glaschu is a delightful spot to go out for any meal of the day without having to spend a fortune, with the huge French Onion Soup costing just £11 on its own, as well as other deals available. Guests can opt for a two-course meal for £25, or get three courses for £30.
