So we might be inside revelling in the newfound sunshine this month (or inside enjoying our guilty pleasure, Love Island), but Netflix is bringing it with this month’s new arrivals. From the return of Stranger Things 4 to huge new films starring heartthrobs Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling and even Regé-Jean Page, we really are in for a sizzling treat. Read on for our picks of what to watch on Netflix this July 2022.

A Day To Die, July 1st
One of Bruce Willis’ final movies has landed on Netflix, gearing up fans for an action-packed goodbye to the iconic actor. Willis stars in A Day To Die (one of his final 10 projects), playing a police chief who’s dragged into a heist when a man is forced to turn to robbery in order to save his wife. Stream it now.

Netflix’s hotly-anticipated Resident Evil reboot is finally here, this time, returning to Raccoon City over a decade after the virus hit. Netflix has gone big with this one, so we’re expecting that fans of the franchise will definitely be satisfied by the reboot. Stream it from July 14th.
Persuasion, July 15th
Dakota Johnson stars in Netflix’s newest period movie, Persuasion, based on the Jane Austen novel of the same name. Breaking the fourth wall a la Enola Holmes, the film sees a very affable Johnson star as Anne Elliot, who is left pining for her ex years later, only to find herself in an unlikely love triangle involving that very ex. The film has taken a modern approach to the period drama, with some comparing it to hit show Fleabag. Watch it on July 15th.
Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain, July 15th
Years after Anthony Bourdain’s tragic death, Roadrunner takes an intimate look inside the busy life of the TV chef, following as Bourdain raises the ranks from anonymity to become an international TV sensation. The documentary lifts the lid on Bourdain’s life behind the camera, while celebrating his enigmatic character and fascinating achievements. Watch it from July 15th.
The Father, July 17th
One of the most heartwrenching movies I’ve ever seen is set to drop on Netflix this month, and if you haven’t watched it already, I truly, truly insist that you do. Starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman, The Father explores the mind of Anthony, who continues to push his daughter away as he deteriorates in his age. It’s a truly beautiful depiction of Alzheimer’s, and one that I’d urge everyone to watch purely to understand just how devastating the disease can be. Watch it on July 17th.
Virgin River (S4), July 20th
Virgin River is back for its fourth season, picking up where we left off and hopefully resolving a ton of cliffhangers that season three left us with. The hit show has long remained one of Netflix’s most addictive dramas, so if you’re yet to get acquainted, we’d suggest that you do. Binge-watch it from July 20th.
The Gray Man, July 22nd
The Gray Man is finally landing on Netflix this month, with a stellar cast consisting of Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, and Regé-Jean Page, to name a few. One of the streaming network’s most anticipated Originals, the film – directed by the Russo Brothers – follows as a CIA asset begins revealing agency secrets, leading to a global sh*tstorm and a worldwide hunt. Stream it on July 22nd.
Uncoupled (S1), July 29th
Uncoupled is coming to Netflix this month, with Neil Patrick Harris taking the lead role in the comedy. Michael (Harris) must learn how to start over again as a single 40-something in NYC when his longtime husband leaves him unexpectedly.
