A one-off takeaway menu that’s definitely worth quacking about.
Due to the current restrictions on hospitality, a lot of bars, restaurants and cafés have had to close their doors for both dining in and takeaways. One restaurant we haven’t seen in a while is Partick Duck Club.
The Hyndland Street restaurant has been closed since December 2o20, and despite hospitality not being able to open back up fully just yet (come on April!), it has revealed a little treat to their customers to give us a taste of what’s to come when they eventually do reopen. An Instagram post from Partick Duck Club announced a one day takeaway, saying: “We have no idea when we will be back open or when this will all be over, but we are going to do a one off day of takeaway to hopefully break up the monotony of this lockdown.”
Partick Duck Club plan to open on March 20 from 9am until 6pm or until they sell out. The restaurant recently revealed their one day takeaway menu and it’s pretty special. The menu features four duck club buns ranging from southern fried chicken thigh with curried onion relish and hot sauce to crispy Asian duck with seared pak choi, Gruyere cheese, coriander and pomegranate mayo, all served in a Freedom Bakery milk bun. The restaurant, which is inspired by a old tavern that served roasted duck and ale, will also be serving two breakfast buns- one with streaky bacon, fried egg, ‘nduja jam and aioli; the other with sausage, scrambled egg, melted Comté cheese, mustard mayo and chutney.
And, of course, Partick Duck Club will be bringing back their infamous duck fat fries for one day only for you to devour. Choose from classic salted; honey mustard may, bacon and spring onion; truffle mayo, parmesan and black pepper; cheese and chilli; or curry, garlic, aioli and chives. We’re tempted to have one of each- after all it has been a while! If you still have room, Partick Duck Club are also serving a dessert of butterscotch Viennetta sundae- now we can definitely say it has been a while since we had Viennetta! Talk about a nostalgic dessert getting a modern makeover.
Keep your eyes peeled for how you can get hold of a takeaway from them or head to their website to book a table for when Partick Duck Club reopen and you can enjoy their extensive and as equally tasty menu as this one-off takeaway one.
