Our comfort food prayers have been answered – a restaurant dedicated to pasta and pasta alone is coming to Glasgow this September. Santa Lucia Pasta will grace Byres Road in the West End with a brand-new restaurant just down the road from Santa Lucia Deli.
The Santa Lucia brand has two other Glasgow spots, with Santa Lucia Merchant City restaurant being the main one, offering a “gastronomic journey through Italy” with food. The Santa Lucia Pasta concept is called “Solo Pasta”, or just pasta in English, and will introduce mouth-watering fresh pasta dishes from various regions of Italy to Glasgow. What is more, all pasta is also handmade on-site for the ultimate comforting experience.
guests can come and ‘spaghet’ it with heaps of parmesan, fresh cut salami, and Italian street food served with glasses of wine and cocktails to match. Visitors can get the chance to get a taste of freshly handmade pasta, in all shapes and sizes paired with authentic sauces. After all, it’s all about the sauce!
Santa Lucia Pasta offers seasonal menus representing the most famous Italian cities, Sicilian street food like arancine, Pugliese buratta, maybe even a secret family recipe or two making an appearance on the menu, and a Neapolitan rhum babà to finish off the experience.
Guests are also invited to watch as the talented chefs hand make the different types of pasta that will be available for you to try on the menu as well as buy some to take home from the on-site shop and takeaway space. The wholesome minimalist dishes and cool setting will be the perfect place for that overdue catch-up with pals, taking a date or just enjoying a wholesome family meal, the Italian way.
Owners Marcello and Mariano shared their excitement and said: “We pride ourselves in serving only authentic Italian food to our customers, and hope we can bring you on a journey through different parts of Italy while you try our carefully crafted handmade pasta dishes!”
