I don’t know about you, but watching those videos of cupcake decorating that end up looking like real plants has been addictive. But what if we told you there is a new Korean cafe in Glasgow offering those immaculately decorated baked goods? Sarang Korean Cafe has just opened to delight our city with beautifully presented cakes, muffins, cupcakes and pastries, as well as k-toast and authentic drinks.
Sarang Korean Cafe opened its doors on March 20 on Hope Street, having replaced NYC Deli which has closed down after 20 years in business. The coffee shop has been painted baby pink and emerald green on the outside, boasting cosy, earthy interiors with plenty of floral arrangements (we couldn’t of expected anything else).
Guests can order a range of Korean sweet and savoury treats to sit in and take away, with the most impressive so far being the Flower Cupcakes and the Cactus Muffins. Each petal is hand-decorated within the shop, offering a limited amount for purchase. The Cactus Muffins are made with chocolate cream and Oreo crumbs, topped with a buttercream cacti arrangement.
Those after traditional layered cake can opt for a variety of flavours, while each croissant is filled with cream. For example, visitors can opt for the Red Bean Cream Croissants sprinkled with Korean roasted bean powder, or the Blueberry Cream Croissant.
What is more, Sarang Korean Cafe also serves Hotteok, which are Korean sweet pancakes filled with cinnamon and sugar, served with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with dark chocolate sauce and topped with hazelnuts.
Coffee enthusiasts can also opt for a variety of coffees, such as the Green Tea Latte, or Korean tea like Grapefruit Tea. We love good latte art, and there have been lots of pictures of adorable bear images floating atop the hot drinks. Well, it looks like we know where we’re off to next!
