That’s right, you read the headline correctly. Record-breaking attendance has been recorded at Murrayfield Stadium this weekend (June 7-9) during the Taylor Swift concert! The biggest stadium in Scotland has the capacity of 67,144 fans to gather in one place, with Taylor filling the stadium for three nights in a row.
One Swiftie captured Taylor Siwft announcing to the crowd the record-breaking attendance news, saying: “I have not gotten to be in Scotland for almost a decade now, last time I’ve been here was almost ten years ago. And I was wondering, what is it going to be like when we go back to visit them? What are they going to be like as a crow? And you know what, you kind of answered me before I’ve even gotten on stage: and I had someone pull me aside, and say:
“Hey, we’ve checked this over 20 times and we swear it’s accurate – tonight is the most-attended stadium show in Scottish history.” ”
Following her weekend in Scotland, Taylor also posted on TikTok to thank her fans, saying: “It’s been shockingly amazing in Edinburgh because every night I got to go on stage and they pulled me aside and said, ‘You know this crowd broke the all-time stadium attendance record for all of Scotland for all of time.’ ”
“So tonight I said, ‘There’s no way they can possibly fit more people into the stadium, there’s no way they can do that.’ ” Swift then shared that she was told Sunday’s show was “now the highest attended stadium show in Scotland — thank you!”
Looks like everyone had a blast at the concert, with one couple being witnessed getting engaged! Next up is Liverpool for Taylor Swift on her UK leg of the ‘Eras’ tour, with Cardiff and London following shortly after.
