The Good Food Guide Top 50 Bakeries in the UK list is out, and Beefcake Cafe made it once again! The bakery was the only Glasgow addition, with six Scottish spots being selected for 2026.
Beefcake Cafe is located on Crow Road, Anniesland in Glasgow, and boasts a generous range of baked goods from Danish pastries, fresh, flaky croissants to freshly baked sourdough bread.
What is more, the spot offers the likes of sourdough toasts, viennoiserie and sweetcorn fritters, and its baked goods tend to sell out fast, so it’s best to come early!

Catriona and Justin from Beefcake Cafe posted on Instagram, rejoicing in the news: “💃🏼Ya dancer! We are so very excited to be chosen as one of The Good Food Guide’s top 50 UK bakeries for the second year running. We are really grateful to our hardworking team and loyal customers. Thank you.🕺”
Speaking about Glasgow’s Beefcake Cafe, The Good Food Guide writers said: “The owners have an obsession with sourdoughs and a passion for pastry, and this very personal business sells out fast.”
“Their regular menu of filled floury baps brimming with breakfast or brunch, loaded sourdough toasts and viennoiserie is supplemented by the likes of sweetcorn fritters with avocado and poached egg, while pies might bring bold combos such as butternut squash with oyster mushroom and halloumi.”

“Otherwise, their perfectly laminated croissant-based options are supplemented by ever-changing Danishes (think pear, blackberry and tonka bean). There’s bread, of course, and the place is licensed too.”
Editor of Good Food Guide, ChloĂ« Hamilton, said: “Choosing just 50 winners was an almost impossible task given how diverse and highly skilled the British baking scene has become. From wood-fired sourdough in Perthshire to a central London cafĂ© peddling pains au chocolat that take you straight to the streets of Paris, one thing uniting them all is sheer unadulterated deliciousness.”
