“Beans have no authority here”
Out of all the unlikely combos in the world – Kanye and Paul McCartney, pineapple and pizza, Rachel and Joey – this one really takes the cake. And when I say that, I’m talking a ‘should-be-banned-from-Twitter’ level offence that, quite simply, will have me feeling nauseous for the rest of the day.
Shocking Twitter users all over the nation earlier today, Weetabix thought it appropriate to reveal their newest combo that they’d discovered at Weetabix HQ – and either someone’s having a hard time on furlough, or they’ve lost their blooming minds. The reveal read: “Why should bread have all the fun, when there’s Weetabix? Serving up @HeinzUK Beanz on bix for breakfast with a twist.”
Yep. Baked beans on Weetabix. Disgusting. Frightful. Simply diabolical. And it’s not just me who thinks so, either, with pretty much the whole internet reacting to this culinary travesty. Here are some of our favourite responses, and of course, the corporate accounts got involved…
Sharing unusual Weetabix pairings since yesterday, the brand has also horrified followers with both marmite on Weetabix and an Innocent smoothie on the breakfast treat, with Innocent hitting back with “Even we wouldn’t do this. We’re not monsters”. Savage! It’s safe to say, we don’t think this will be a brunch trend taking off anytime soon.
