Scotland’s biggest immersive projection show is officially coming to Glasgow this festive season after a £2 million investment.
Since the Elfingrove ice rink was cancelled in 2023 because of the cost-of-living crisis, we haven’t had any major events outside the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Now, itison has invested £ 2 million to bring Elfingrove back as Scotland’s biggest immersive projection show.
Elfingrove is making a gigantic return to Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum for 2026, popping up between November 26 and December 13. So while it won’t run over Christmas, guests can get into the festive spirit right before the big day.
The immersive projection show is set to take visitors on a “magical journey through Glasgow’s past, present and future”, boasting 24 state-of-the-art projectors covering an 8k canvas, with a curated soundtrack through individual headphones.
Taking over Kelvingrove’s majestic Centre Hall, the projections will span 22.8 metres up the walls, covering 2,755 square metres.

What is more, the fun isn’t over after the show, as guests can enjoy the Elfingrove Christmas Village afterwards, with light installations, the Snowglobe Bar and the Elfingrove Express, which is a miniature land train taking families on a wee ride.
Oli Norman, CEO of itison and founder of Elfingrove, said: “Over the last few years, I’ve been travelling the world with my team visiting incredible venues and projection shows for inspiration, and now it’s finally time to bring it all back home and give Glasgow the Christmas experience it deserves.
“We’ve been working behind the scenes with an incredible creative team and can’t wait to welcome audiences when we open at the end of November. At the heart of Elfingrove this year is a beautiful, cinematic Christmas story told through stunning immersive projections and an epic score which showcases Kelvingrove as the canvas, not just the backdrop.
“It’s a celebration of the city we love, told inside one of its most iconic buildings and we hope it will capture the imaginations of audiences young and old alike.”
