Matcha fans, rejoice! Having taken the UK by storm, Blank Street Coffee has now opened its doors in Glasgow, bringing its unique matcha flavours to the biggest city in Scotland – like the viral White Chocolate Matcha.
Blank Street Coffee is launching in the UK’s friendliest city due to the growing demand from locals after its debut in Edinburgh earlier this year. Located on Gordon Street, the spot opened its doors on Saturday, April 26 at 8am.
Blank Street Coffee boasts 42 locations across the UK, including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh, bringing innovative ways to enjoy matcha, as well as your ordinary cup of coffee. The spot exclusively serves specialty grade Arabica coffee from Origin Coffee Roasters in Cornwall, with their own Blank Blend. The coffee itself has also received the Best Coffee Chain – UK & IE award at the Allegra European Coffee Awards 2023.
The coffee shop is opening just in time for the new Spring menu, with treats like Strawberry Shortcake Matcha or the Rhubarb and Custard, having already gained traction in Scotland. Alongside these new seasonal flavours, guests can also get their hands on Blank Street’s viral favourites, such as the White Chocolate Matcha and Blueberry Matcha, as well as their speciality cold brew or a flat white.
As the the UK’s fastest-growing and most in-demand coffee brands, the move to Scotland has been instrumental in bringing matcha to the mainstream. Plus, the high demand from the Edinburgh opening has already seen massive queues, setting the tone for its anticipated arrival in the Scottish capital.
Ignacio Llado, Co-Founder at Blank Street commented: “We couldn’t be more excited to bring Blank Street to our second Scottish city, following the overwhelming response to our arrival in the capital of Edinburgh. At Blank Street we believe that life is about finding joy in the everyday, and we can’t wait to continue this with our new Glasgow opening.”
