It’s Christmastime, so it’s only fitting festive light trails have taken over Scotland. Out of all the Christmas light displays and things to do this season, we have yet to find a spot that offers a fairytale-like festive light trail like Brechin Castle Centre does, boasting over 70 acres of country park, as well as crazy golf, zip sliding and jumping pillows, on top of a giant maze.
Brechin Castle Centre is located two hours from Glasgow North of Dundee. The huge centre boasts a country park, garden centre, coffee shop and shopping, inviting guests for a unique day trip away. There is also Fairy Trail all year round, as well as foot golf, crazy golf, a sledge run, giant sandpit, go-carts, jumping pillows, a wooden maze and more attractions to explore. However, to use the attractions guests will have to arrive early as they close at 3:30pm in December.
The Magical Winter Nights trail at Brechin Castle Centre will transport visitors to a fairytale land this season between December 1 and 24, as well as on December 27 & 28. Guests can expect to encounter mythical beings such as fairies, dragons and enchanted objects, as well as spellbinding lights, enchanting projections and much more within the woodland trail.
All the country park’s attractions like the zip slide and crazy golf will also be illuminated, transforming the familiar surroundings into a captivating land of wonders. Plus, visitors will get the chance to savour hot chocolate and hot drinks while toasting some marshmallows in the firepit at the centre’s coffee shop.
Peak tickets are £15, while guests can save some money going during off-peak times with £12 tickets, while children under two go free. You can book your tickets on the Brechlin Castle Centre website.
