As quiet chatter fills the room with the comforting melodies of jazz, soft vocals and skilled musicians set the scene from the moment you walk into Browns Brasserie & Bar. Dimmed lights and floral arrangements aid the romantic glow of the restaurant even further, preparing each visitor for a cosy and intimate evening.
Browns Brasserie & Bar is located at number one George Square, making it as prime of a spot as any in Glasgow. Guests can expect a selection of British Brasserie favourites, as well as a range of innovative dishes and cocktails. The restaurant sources its produce from local suppliers, independent farmers and fishermen, as well as trying to limit food miles as much as possible to help the environment.
The food at Browns Brasserie & Bar

Secret Glasgow got the chance to try out Browns Brasserie & Bar for ourselves, enjoying a three-course dinner accompanied by live jazz music. To start, the Beetroot and Apple Tartare tasted just like my grandma’s beetroot salad (seriously, can there be a bigger compliment than this?). The main event was even more exciting – the Fillet Steak with Garlic Butter Scallops with chips and pea shoots proved to provide a sizeable portion, perfectly complemented by Creamed Spinach.
What is more, the Gluten-Free Rich Chocolate Fondant proved to be just as marvellous as a regular one, boasting Amarena Wild Cherries.
The drinks
Visitors have an abundance of choice when it comes to champagne and wine at Browns Brasserie & Bar, ranging from La Sauterelle Picpoul De Pinet with hints of melon and citrus for a lighter taste, or Browns very own champagne.
Spring and Summer menu

Browns Brasserie & Bar in Scotland has introduced its new spring and summer menu, championing British brasserie favourites with fresh, seasonal additions. The ultimate starter guests HAVE to try is Asparagus and Poached Egg, with hollandaise and crispy leeks – making it a simple, yet genius dance of flavours.
When it comes to mains, seafood is the flavour of the season with a line-up of Cornish Sole, served with sautéed baby potatoes and clam & pancetta butter. And if you’re not a fan of having to tackle fish bones, opt for the Miso-Glazed Salmon with a crispy sushi rice cake, shimeji mushrooms and mushroom dashi.

Those who aren’t feeling like seafood can go for the Lobster Surf & Turf, featuring 200g fillet steak and a lobster tail drizzled in a garlic and parsley butter.
Moreover, dessert options include a Peach & Rosemary Twist on an Eton Mess, as well as the Salted Caramel & Chocolate Delice with fresh raspberries, honeycomb and Belgian cocoa crumb.
And for a weekday treat, guests can indulge in set menus with two courses from £19.50 or three courses from £24.50 between 12pm to 7pm, or two courses from £25 or three from £30 after 7pm.
