Glasgow woke up this morning to some lovely flower arrangements, making Merchant City look absolutely delightful. Artificial flower company Flowerfunk has taken it upon themselves to spread joy in the “concrete, gritty and industrial city of Glasgow.” The city’s benches, traffic lights, fences, lamp posts and even the Duke of Wellington statue have been decorated with vibrant colours and warming tones, in the hopes of assisting commuters’ mental health.
As a result, the team behind Flowerfunk have been labelled “Floral Banksy” as they were working late on Wednesday night (March 20) beautifying Glasgow’s public spaces.
Flowerfunk is an artificial flower company, working with businesses to help transform their spaces, making them more vibrant and trendy. The brand helps brands to “have unique, Instagrammable designs for window displays, interior & exterior decoration and more”, as well as assist to attract more customers with their colourful spaces.
In an Instagram post, Flowerfunk said: “One simple thing; mixing the vibrancy and purity of flowers with the concrete, gritty and industrial city of Glasgow.
A calm moment within the working hour rush. GLASGOW FLOWER TAKEOVER. Keep your eyes peeled for our installations around the city and feel free to take any home – once they are gone they are gone.”
Facebook comments did not disappoint as usual, with one commenter calling the team the “Floral Banksy”. Plenty of other commenters praised the initiative saying how good it looks.
So, Flowerfunk has definitely brightened up everyone’s day this morning and last night. Keep them coming!
