How can you not love Glasgow?
Wanting to plan a romantic getaway once lockdown is over? It might not be the news you want to hear but funnily enough you might as well as stay where you are, because Glasgow has been named one of the most romantic destinations in the UK.
Us Glaswegians are considered some of the kindest people and Glasgow has some of the best streets, so it makes sense that the city made the cut as a go-to destination for couples.Lyme Bay Holidays crunched the numbers to discover the most romantic cities in the UK, where Glasgow managed to gain fourth place beating the likes of Cumbria and Dorset.
However, the data by the holiday cottage company found that our rival Scottish city, Edinburgh, nabbed first place as the most romantic destination (how dare they), followed by Cornwall and Devon. Lyme Bay Holidays also discovered the most popular UK proposal and wedding destinations where Greater London came top, as well as counties with the most romantic things to do and places to eat. Cornwall was crowned first place for most romantic activities and North Yorkshire, being the largest English county, had the most romantic restaurants.
From the beautiful waterfalls at Rouken Glen Park to the insane views up at Red Sky Bar, of course Glasgow is a romantic destination and we know there are plenty of romantic things to do and restaurants to visit in this city, Cail Bruich and Five March, to name a few.
