Mamasan Bar and Brasserie in Glasgow has revealed a brand new à la carte menu inspired by the flavours of South-East Asia, created by the venue’s new Head Chef, Finn Steele-Perkins. Chef Steele-Perkins has combined his interest in Asian cooking with his passion for fine dining, using French cooking techniques to execute classic flavours with a modern twist.
The new à la carte menu at Mamasan features a range of organic creations made with locally-sourced ingredients from farms, fields and the sea. The brand new dishes are available from June 22, with highlights such as the Thai Beef Tartare served with pickled lime gel, crispy shallots and cured egg yolk shavings, the Crab Katsu with fresh pickled white crab served with asparagus, brown crab emulsion, katsu butter and finished with bisque foam.
Guests can tuck into a choice of flavoursome main courses, including the Sweet and Sour Pork, a belly of pork, served with sweet and sour onions, charred baby leeks, red pepper and pineapple ketchup, or the Seabass, Prosecco and Blood Orange with fresh seabass with a chilli and blood orange sour sauce, prosecco foam, pickled chilli, watercress and pac choi. Other mains on the new menu include the Chilli Jam Chicken, Luxury Pad Thai, Beef Short Rib Massaman Curry, Lamb Cutlet Malaysian Yellow Curry and Peking Duck, a confit Peking duck leg with pickled cucumber, miso glazed carrot, umeboshi gel and pancakes.
What is more, guests will get the opportunity to try out an exclusive six-course tasting menu experience on Wednesday, June 21, ahead of the new menu launch. The tasting experience starts at £39 per person and features three starters, the Crab Katsu, Thai Fried Chicken and Hoisin Duck Doughnuts, two mains, the Grilled Hake and Beef and Black Bean, and the Blood Orange Cheesecake for dessert, all served in a smaller format. There will also be the option to add a drink pairing for an additional £36pp to make for a more wholesome experience.
If you can’t make it on that Wednesday, guests will also be able to enjoy 30% off the à la carte menu from June 22 until July 6. To claim the discount, bookings are available through Mamasan’s booking portal.
