We love Glasgow and most of its areas, but some places appear to be more popular than others.
As a result, the best places to live in Glasgow have been revealed by a new Compare My Move report, taking a peek at where Glaswegians are choosing to move to.
Pollokshields, Dumbreck and Strathbungo in the Southside of Glasgow (G41) were named the most popular areas in Glasgow for 2025, beloved for their bars, restaurants, green spaces and proximity to the city centre. G42, another Southside location, including Govanhill, Polmadie, and Toryglen, came fifth on the list, with an average house price of just £195,740.
Kelvindale, Hyndland and Hillhead (G12) came second on the list, and is significantly more expensive, with house prices averaging at £374,532, while G3 with Woodlands, Finnieston and Kelvinhaugh in the West End was third on the list.

The furthest area on the list was G72, which includes Blantyre and Cambuslang, and came fourth on the list of the most popular areas in Glasgow this year.
Dave Sayce, co-founder and managing director of Compare My Move, commented: “The areas on this list not only have strong transport links into central Glasgow, but also offer their own bars, restaurants, and amenities. Combined with more affordable rental prices, it’s easy to see why people are choosing to live and spend time here. Since the rise of hybrid and remote working, there’s also been a noticeable shift towards living in the surrounding areas of cities rather than the centre, and Glasgow is no exception.”
