Now, one might wonder – what makes a stylish neighbourhood? Well, Furniturebox surveyed to determine just that, and Dennistoun is officially the most stylish place to live in Glasgow. The study polled 5,000 people asking their opinion on the community spaces around the UK.
Dennistoun was ranked the highest in Glasgow, while the West End neighbourhood Hillhead came second. Giffnock came in third place, West End in fourth, and Saltcoats was fifth.
To determine the most stylish place to live, the survey examined the beauty of the buildings, the scenery, green spaces, the balance between classic and modern and the popularity of artists and filmmakers. Home to Alexandra Park and with a multitude of pretty buildings and quirky spots, Dennistoun was an easy choice.
What is more, the neighbourhood took the 34th spot on the national list, proving the East End is popular among the younger crowds.
While in Dennistoun, check out one of our favourite outdoor dining spots in town, Drygate Brewery: a Glasgow brewery with a cracking beer garden serving all kinds of foods.
We are also completely obsessed with Little Dessert Shop and their cookie dough. Expect quirky seasonal flavours and feel like a little kid in a candy shop again.
For culture and history lovers, the Glasgow Necropolis is a must-visit, and the Market Gallery on Duke Street is home to contemporary art available to see between Thursday and Sunday.
