Lobster is usually one of the most expensive items on the menu: the prestigious meal is generally reserved for special occasions or payday. However, it doesn’t have to be the case anymore – you can now have lobster and wine at an affordable price at Ralph & Finns. Every Thursday and Friday, Ralph & Finns will host a weekly “Catch” nights spotlighting their local suppliers.
The Ultimate Lobster Night is the restaurant’s way of celebrating Scottish food and introducing high-quality local produce to the community. For £25 per person, guests will be offered a half lobster, fries, salad and a glass of wine making it an exquisite night out. And those who aren’t too fond of lobster can also opt for a premium Aberdeen Angus ribeye steak instead for an extra £5.
Recently launching its brand new menu for autumn, the family-owned restaurant is celebrating Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight which aims to shine a light on supporting Scottish from the country’s most creative chefs to trend-setting suppliers. Head Chef Kevin O’Neill is the one behind the new autumn menu and has brought in a fresh take such as the Shetland Hake paired with hispi cabbage, crispy potato and celeriac, topped with chicken sauce.
Ralph & Finns also offers a mouth-watering cauliflower steak with cheddar sauce, pickled walnut and onion marmalade as a veggie option. Moreover, the wine list is noteworthy: if you’re into white, the Azevedo Vinho Verde from Portugal will be a fresh choice and if you’re after something sweeter, the New Zealand Lawson’s Dry Hills Riesling is always a winner. And to pair with that steak, the Italian Primitivo Puglia IGT Barocco brings out notes of chocolate, dried figs and plums.
So, here is your invitation to the Ultimate Lobster Night for some freshly caught goodness. Lobsters don’t share because they’re shellfish, and you shouldn’t either.
