It’s good news for astronomy enthusiasts and early risers as this Tuesday a super strawberry moon will grace the skies of Scotland. However, you’ll have to wake up at 12.51 am to see it! Fingers crossed we see few clouds because behind them will sit something spectacular. The super strawberry moon will appear much larger than usual and have an orange-pink tinge.
Photographers have your cameras at the ready and if you miss it on Tuesday morning then you may still have the chance to see it on Tuesday evening. However, if you’re working on Tuesday evening (booo) then look you only have to wait until July 13 to see another!
A supermoon appears when the moon is full and orbits close to the Earth at the same time and although you can see a full moon every month, the supermoon appears much larger than usual. There are generally only a couple or so supermoons a year so it’s really an incredible sight.
