With increasing awareness around mental health, various self-care practices regarding inner work have been adopted by many. However, finding the right practices can be tough, as the possibilities may seem endless. No one way of working on oneself will be right for every single person, so it’s important to set individual goals and go from there. So, head down to a free Goal Setting session at YOTEL Glasgow’s rooftop venue VEGA at 11am this Saturday (October 8).
Hosted by the independently owned local duo Freedom & Joy for World Mental Health Awareness Day (October 10), the goal-setting workshop will encourage guests to set personal goals and define what happiness means to them, with input from expert coaches. The session will take place in VEGA’s private dining room and discuss the importance of goal setting to drive personal growth, encouraging guests to take some time for themselves as the seasons change.
Often, we might have goals, amazing intentions and even motivation. However, sometimes we just don’t exactly know how to reach the goals step by step or where to even start. A tangible plan is essential to the success of achieving said goals and coaches Aarti Joshi and Sharon Stephen will take attendees through the necessary steps towards setting and reframing goals.
Sometimes, we also forget to think about what is truly important to us, and, istead, we focus on what others want from us. During the half-hour session, guests will be reminded to ask themselves what is truly important to them: sometimes, we just might not be as passionate about some goals, or simply lost the drive to achieve them. And that’s okay, people are allowed to change their minds, and during the workshop, visitors will be encouraged to rethink their current priorities.
Aarti Joshi, co-founder of Freedom & Joy said, “We’re delighted to offer a free one-off coaching session in partnership with YOTEL Glasgow. As we head into the final few months of 2022 it’s important to reset and take stock of our own personal goals, hopes and dreams. Sharon and I will work with the group to delve deeper into how each individual person can achieve self growth and create tangible goals, which will help them on their journey to living their best life.”
The goal setting event at YOTEL Glasgow also marks the end of programme of wellbeing events surrounding Mental Health Awareness Week, with one final free session of YO-GA in the sky led by the yoga guru Jess Mackenzie on Tuesday 11 October from 7:30am. What is more, the goal-setting workshop and yoga sessions are open to all, non-hotel guests and hotel guests. You can also book your free spot here.
