Ever had strangers come up to you to ask if they could take a picture of your food? Well, there is a first for everything – we have found the most beautiful afternoon tea, and it’s a true head-turner!
Cuvée is the place in question, located within Princes Square shopping mall on Buchanan Street and opened its doors in August, offering all-day dining in a casual setting. What is more, guests can visit the West End location, conveniently situated on Lynedoch Street. Owned by The Superlative Collection, the cafe and wine bar will join the likes of The Noble, Glaschu, Maison by Glaschu, Gōst, The Duke’s Umbrella, The Clubhouse and Blue Dog.
Built in 1841, the building was originally a merchant square built in yellow sandstone, and Princes Square, as we know it, opened its doors in 1988.
The most beautiful afternoon tea in Glasgow
The afternoon tea at Cuvée is what really stands out, as the setting is beautifully presented on a heron sculpture. As soon as the food arrived, other people asked if they could take a picture of the setting.
As the spot is located on the ground floor in the courtyard, the presentation of the afternoon tea is complemented by the grandeur of the historic mall all the way to the top.
Starting from the bottom, guests can sample a Ham and Cheese Croissant, as well as an Egg Salad Tartine and a Smoked Salmon Blini. The Egg Salad Tartine was the most noteworthy, offering that comforting treat we all know and love.
Next, the fruit scones with clotted cream and jam are the perfect bridge to the sweet treats. The Pot Au Chocolat was the most impressive of the bunch, coming as an art form in itself – a plant pot made from chocolate, filled with a creamy chocolatey interior. What is more, guests also get to continue their indulgence with the Champagne and Rose Macarons and the Chocolate and Hazelnut Eclairs.
And as Cuvée is a spot that specialises in sparkling wine, visitors can opt for a Cremant Afternoon Tea to complete the experience for an extra £5.
Overall, the afternoon tea at Cuvée is the most beautiful in Glasgow, boasting an impressive array of treats for a wholesome visit to experience one of the most British traditions ever. You can book your table here.
